Well today I rode on the first outbound T2TX. It was run by bus 1820, the story of the day is below.
So after getting on the 14:10 865 to Aldgate (operated by bus 3231), I had to wait 20mins in Aldgate for the next 864F. I took some photos of the Aldgate pump, then sat at the bench. After the bus (3315) finally arrived, I was happy. After a few stupid bus users got on in Stirling (details on that later), it was only a short (30min) trip into town. I think we were there about 5mins early as well, which is a bonus.
After taking a few photos in Hindmarsh Sq, I walked down Pirrie and King William Streets to the Franklin St bus park. Unfortunately there weren't too many buses there at this time, but I did manage to take a few photos. Then, I headed over to Victoria SQ, and hung there for around 1/2 hour, taking photos.
At 16:20 (7mins before the T2TX is due), I head over to stop U1 Victoria SQ (the starting point). 1820 pulls in with a blank desto, and the driver comes out calling that it is the "T2T Express to Arndale". I was the only person to step forward. The driver explains to me that the desto isn't working. The same thing happens at each of our stops, the difference being that no one gets on at these. I was the only person on for the whole ride. Nice!
When I get to Arndale, I hop off, thank the driver and get my camera (Nikon D3300 with 18-55mm lens) out. Not that many buses come through Arndale at 16:50-17:05 apparently, so no too many photos form there. Happily, the ones I got are good becuase it was cloudy (no shadows) and there were no cars in the way (mostly).
After around 20mins, the 253X I need to get back to the City arrives (bus 1282). I hop on, and there is only one other guy aboard. Definitely a good use of resources. We both get off at the same stop in the City as well, the one just past Currie/Grenfell Streets on Kin William Street.
Afer alighting, I head over to stop E1 Currie St (where I will board my T863 home) and take photos of all the buses coming through. There was an 863F, T842, H24, H22 and 840X before my bus (3202) pulls in on the T863. 3202 is a zippy one, and we arrive in Stirling 5mins ealry.
Thanking the driver as I leave, I cross the road and wait for my 865 home. 3234 pulls in, driven by a driver I chat to, so I cange the settings on my camera and take my first decent night shot. I also have a go at taking one of 3230 (which has pulled in behind on the City-bound 864), but I did it in too much of a rush and it came out all blurred
Anyway, that was my day today. I think this is what blogs are for, so I'll use mine for this, among other things.
